Isla Holbox is a small island on the north shore of the Yucatan Peninsula. It’s just over an hour drive from the Cancun airport. The small town is accessed by ferry and has a small beach town feel with more golf carts than cars.

There are juvenile tarpon to 40 pounds in the mangroves and lagoon flats. There are also good numbers of snook. The beach side has larger tarpon (80-100+ pounds), jack crevalle, permit (seasonally), and more.

We fly in on Monday the 28th, fish the next four days, and then leave on Saturday the 2nd. There might be a possibility to squeeze in a 1/2 day trip the morning of the 28th (not included in price). We stay in a modest hotel, one block from the sandy beach.

Lodging is included in the price and is double occupancy at a boutique hotel a block from the beach. Single room upgrades are likely available.

Food is not included in the trip. There are multiple wonderful restaurants within walking distance from our lodging and the group will walk to a different restaurant each night. Because of the access to fresh seafood, many of the restaurants serve up delicious fish, lobster, shrimp, conch, and more.

The highs average in the mid to high 80’s. Low’s average in the 60’s. Average rainfall is 1.7″ for the month, thunderstorms are possible. Sun protection and breathable clothing is recommended. A lightweight packable rain jacket is also recommended.

Included: airport transfer, round trip ferry to/from island, lodging, 4 days guided fishing, lunches on fishing days.

Not included: airfare to/from Cancun, gratuities, fishing license, food/drinks, and fishing tackle.
